This 4-day course in pain medicine is designed for beginners, emphasizing the establishment of conceptual clarity. By the end, participants will grasp the principles and objectives of chronic pain treatment. They will develop the ability to select appropriate intervention modalities for specific pain patients logically. The curriculum focuses on providing a comprehensive understanding of pain management strategies, empowering leaners to make informed decisions regarding patient care.

Highlights of the Hands-on Workshop on Pain Management Techniques & Interventions:

  2. Practical Focus: Participants will engage in hands-on practice on mannequins and volunteers, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge directly to clinical scenarios.

  3. Diverse Intervention Modalities: The workshop covers a range of pain management techniques, including epidural steroid injections, nerve root blocks, facet joint injections, and ultrasound-guided procedures.

  4. Expert Guidance: Live demonstrations by experienced practitioners will provide insights into various procedures, enhancing participants' skills and confidence.

  5. Limited Seats: With only 5 seats per batch, participants can expect personalized attention and ample opportunity for interaction and learning.

Eligibility: 

Applicants for this program must hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree or its equivalent from a recognized university in India or abroad. Additionally, they must have completed at least one year of residency at a recognized hospital in any of the following disciplines: Anaesthesiology, Orthopaedics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Rheumatology, Radiology, and General Medicine. Candidates with post-graduate degrees or diplomas in these disciplines are exempt from further questioning regarding their qualifications.

 

Venue:

The classes will be held at Rajarhat Pain Clinic in Newtown, Kolkata, and Samobathi Pain Clinic in Kolkata, according to the provided schedule.

Attendees are responsible for organizing their own food and lodging arrangements. Snacks and a working lunch will be provided during the course. Office staff can offer guidance over the phone, and there are hotels conveniently located within walking distance for individual accommodation needs.

11:15 am to 12:15 am –Evaluation of back pain.

12:15 pm – 1:00 pm –  How to Interpret X-Ray & MRI of Spine, 

1:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Lunch 

2:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Fluoro-anatomy of the spine with Practical Demonstration of Lumbosacral Procedures on Mannequin. Live Demonstration and Hands-on Practice on Mannequin - Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection (MIPSI) - Sub-pedicular approach and Kambin’s Triangle Approach, S1 Selective Nerve Root MIPSI, Caudal Epidural Steroid Injection (MIPSI), Facet joint and SI joint  Injection (MIPSI)

Introduction to Sympathetic System and Sympathetically Mediated Pain. 

Live Demonstration and Hands-on Practice on Mannequin - Lumbar Sympathetic Block, Superior Hypogastric Plexus Block, Ganglion Impar Block
